What factors affect the adhesion of rubber in polyurethane rollers?

2024-06-15

In the processing and production of polyurethane roller products, the adhesion of rubber to iron wheels cannot be ignored on the quality of the products. Therefore, we must do a good job of preparation before processing and fully consider the factors affecting adhesion. Because if these factors affecting adhesion are not paid attention to in time, the later use effect will definitely be greatly discounted. Therefore, in order to meet the requirements of use, we need to master some factors that affect its adhesion. Let's take a brief look at it.

1. The structure of the molecular chain: There is a positive correlation between the polarity similarity and compatibility of the bonded rubber molecules. The more similar the polarity, the better the compatibility, and the higher the bonding strength.

2. Molecular weight: Too high or too low molecular weight values will affect the bonding effect. Only by choosing the appropriate molecular weight can the adhesion be optimal.

3. Components of the rubber compound: The use of an appropriate amount of after-effect promoter or tackifier can promote the deep diffusion of molecules, thereby increasing the viscosity of the rubber compound, such as resin, rosin, pine tar, etc. Excessive or insufficient dosage will affect the bonding strength.

4. Surface state of the adhesive: The oxide film, frost, and release agent formed by the oxidation of the adhesive surface will reduce its own adhesion. Therefore, before bonding, the surface of the adhesive must be treated with appropriate methods, such as solvent wiping, mechanical roughening, etc.

5. The speed of solvent evaporation: When we use solvent-based adhesives for bonding, it is easy for residual solvents to produce pores, thereby affecting the bonding strength. Too fast or too slow speed is not conducive to smooth bonding. Therefore, when choosing, a mixed solvent that combines fast and slow has the best effect. You can also use low-concentration solvents to brush on iron wheels multiple times, and the effect is also good.

In addition, the time, temperature, and external pressure of the polyurethane roller bonding also affect the bonding strength to a certain extent. The quality of bonding determines the quality of the product. Therefore, its bonding occupies a very important position. Therefore, if we encounter the above factors that may affect the bonding during the bonding process, we must avoid them in time and never ignore them.
